Manuel Enrique Garcia is a Venezuelan/Puerto Rican photographer/writer based in Virginia. He began writing short stories when he was ten years old and at the age of thirteen, declared that he was going to be a writer. Manuel wrote for various online music magazines in his teens and then decided against higher education in order to begin working on his novel, an introspective work that he’s worked on since 2007.
Manuel began to explore photography as a creative outlet during the winter of 2022 after buying a half frame camera on a whim. Always a writer, he admired photography from afar. He felt like the world of photography wasn’t meant for him. It was too expensive, too esoteric, and too intimidating. After feeling a deep connection with the process and the half frame camera, the self-imposed wall came down. Manuel centered his focus on photography and began to explore a new medium.
Boundless in style and curious in approach, Manuel aims to merge two creative worlds to create work that is unique to his time, place, and sensibility.  Whether as a writer or photographer, Manuel creates intriguing work that is reflective of the human condition and how we exist in a challenging world.
